Perry J. VanDerHurst, DC, FASA, BS

Dr. PJ was born in California, then spent time as a baby while his father was stationed in Hawaii. When his family later moved to northern California, Dr. PJ developed his love for the outdoors in the Shasta-Trinity National Forest. He spent hours hiking, backpacking, mountain biking, and camping.

As a teenager, Dr. PJ moved to Northern Virginia, which he now calls home. After a car accident, he consulted with a chiropractor when his head and neck were locked in a rotated position. When he was able to walk out of the chiropractor’s office, with his head and neck straight, he was convinced that chiropractic was the career for him.

Dr. PJ received his bachelor’s degree in biology from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University before receiving his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in San Jose, California. After graduation from chiropractic college, Dr. PJ associated with another doctor before opening his office with Dr. Tina in 2000. In addition to his biology and chiropractic degrees, Dr. PJ is certified by the Acupuncture Society of America and has received additional training in pediatrics from the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association.

Dr. PJ is trained in many chiropractic techniques, but the one he has found the best results with is Prone Specific. This is a gentle, yet effective technique that helps patients heal quickly. Dr. PJ is also certified in the Webster Technique, and he utilizes that technique to evaluate and adjust pregnant women, allowing for the best possible labor and delivery.
When he’s not seeing patients, Dr. PJ enjoys hiking, fishing, and playing tennis with Dr. Tina. Regular chiropractic care allowed him to take up snowboarding in his fifties, so winter weekends are spent on the slopes with his two daughters.

Dr. PJ loves living in the Northern Virginia community, and he truly enjoys practice. He considers it an honor to serve each and every one of his patients.

Dr. Tina was born in Manchester, New Hampshire. She lived there until her family moved to California when she was 9 years old. In 1998, she moved to Loudoun County, Virginia to begin her life and career with her husband, Dr. PJ VanDerHurst. She loves being a part of the Western Loudoun community, and she strives to make each of her patients feel like family.

Dr. Tina knew she wanted to be a chiropractor after getting relief from daily headaches that were the result of a car accident when she was sixteen. She always knew she wanted a career helping people, but once she experienced relief from those headaches with chiropractic, her decision was made. As a 23+ year dancer and dance teacher, she also witnessed how effective chiropractic was at keeping her functioning her best.

Dr. Tina graduated high school from American High School in Fremont, California and completed her undergraduate requirements at California State University, Hayward. She then continued her education and received her Doctor of Chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic West in San Jose, California. She has studied under some of the most successful chiropractors, and she has hundreds of hours of nutrition training as well. Because of her passion for children and families, Dr. Tina has additional training in prenatal, perinatal, and pediatric care from the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association. She is proud to be Webster technique certified.

Dr. Tina feels blessed to be able to practice chiropractic with her husband, the love of her life. She enjoys spending time with Dr. PJ and their two beautiful children, Emma and Katie.
